  1. So why do people buy a ledger wallet then? Or a trezor ?? what is the point.. isn't this just the same thing going right down to brass tact

  2. Question: If the bitaddress.org was Saved As and then my internet connection turned OFF when creating my paper wallet (Private & Public key pair) …. then at what exact time does the Public address get created on the blockchain? Again, the internet connection was OFF while the bitaddress.org did it's thing to create my wallet. Further explanation would be nice on this point.

  3. This might sound dumb but will the public key ever expire? I want to make a wallet for the long run. Will the public key last 5 years? Or do I have to update it?

  4. do you use bitaddress ? but what if bitaddress site is down some day or be taken out by the gov … then what happen to all the stuff we store in there ?

  5. This is not suitable for any significant amount of bitcoin. You are trusting that the website didn't serve you compromised code. This is not an offline wallet. You generated it using a webpage you loaded from the internet. Going offline before generating the key doesn't help you at all.

  6. DO NOT USE A WEB SERVICE TO GENERATE YOUR PRIVATE KEY!!

If you generate the private key on a website, the website owner, and people spoofing the domain also have your private keys. This means your money can get stolen very easily.

  7. IMPORTANT UPDATE: If you want to transfer your coins out of your paper wallet, be sure to look into the "Return Address Problem". You either need to send out the full balance OR use a wallet/service that sends your unspent coins back to the original address!
